Park the Goof

For her birthday Hank and I gave Park a Olivia dress up box. It worked out well since she has gotten so into dress up the last couple of weeks...

Friday we took Grandma and Grandpa to the beach to see the Pacific. As usual it was cloudy and breezy, but it was perfect for us because no one was interested in swimming, just playing in the sand and enjoying the sound of the water.

We actually took them up to the north end of base to the San Onofre beach. We haven't spent a lot of time there so it took me a few minutes to figure out what the sound like helicopters was- the big rocks hitting each other as the waves pulled them in and out.

On Saturday we went to the SOI Luau down by the lake. Park had fun playing some of the games, but it was hot so we didn't stay long.

Happy Birthday Park!

Park turned three on Thursday with a Care Bear cake and lots of presents. (She has asked for and eaten cake at almost every meal since then).

Thank you to everyone who sent presents!

She got lots of fun toys that we have already spent hours playing with, and some really cute clothes!

The Bowsers came over to help her celebrate.

Jacob helped her try out some of her new gifts.

Then he got in Mile's kennel and Park locked him in. Jacob was NOT happy, but Park thought it was hysterical.

After some crying and pleading she finally let him out and got in herself. I think Jacob was a little disappointed she didn't cry like he did.

Chloe hung out and was her normal darling self.

Lego Birthday

We were going to go to Legoland on Wednesday but ended up going to buy a new van (yippee!). Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa were there to keep Parker busy at the dealership. So instead we went on Thursday. We went early and went through the aquarium first.

It was the first time I had seen the octopus come out of his corner, he was so cool looking.

Grandpa liked the hammerhead shark.

And the Nemo's.

Afterwards we went over to Legoland and started with one of our favorites, the fairytale boats.

Parker has gotten so use to me making her pose with all the characters she asked for pictures this time. She also picked out her own dress, btw.

We did the usual fountains and play area.

She was more interested in what was in Chewie's bag then taking a picture with him.

This guy we saw as we were walking out, Parker was not as afraid of him as she is of the Bionicles.

Park really likes the new van, she puts the headphones on and totally zones out.

I seriously seriously love this thing.

Grandma and Grandpa Nesbitt

Grandpa and Grandma Nesbitt are here! We love having them here, and hopefully haven't bored them too much hanging out around the house. Actually, how can life be boring with Park around?

They braved the pool with us on Sunday, and got to see Park working on swimming.

She has insisted on wearing "Princess dresses" since right before they got here. Luckily she considers any dress a "princess" dress.

For some reason she has insisted on wearing her rain boots all week.

And sometimes her cape too.

Lego Princess

Tuesday Parker and I both had dental appointments to get our teeth cleaned. Last time I was able to hold her on my lap and she did great, I didn't realize this time that they had scheduled us both at the same time so I couldn't be with her. It made me nervous, but she was in the next work station and I could hear her the entire time. The lady who worked with her was awesome and got her to cooperate for everything, and Parker has asked almost every day to go back to the Dr to get her teeth cleaned.
I promised her after the dentist we'd go to Legoland. It was hot so I mostly just let her run through the fountains. This was the first time we had passed by at the right time and the princess was in her chair.

As we were leaving we noticed this Darth Vader and R2D2. They must have been left over from Star War days. They both talked and moved a little bit.

Make-up and more

Thursday Parker woke up really early (still adjusting back to west coast time) so I told her she could get in bed with me or go play in her room. I was really hoping she would just go back to sleep so I didn't turn the tv on. She woke me up around 7 to show off the beautiful job she had done with her make-up... my make-up.

I didn't yell at her, I just did what any pregnant woman who woke up to her make-up being destroyed would do.... I cried. I explained to Parker how sad she had made me and that made her cry.

It took me at least an hour to clean her and the couch, and to try and figure out if anything was salvagable. I can replace everything, but I had gotten Bare Minerals from Parker and Hank for Mother's day and she dumped out most of it. I had barely even used it.

She had also gotten the powder all over her silver dress from the wedding, her new coat, my sheets, and the door frame.

This was the dirty ring around the tub after I bathed her. Gross.

I got over it quickly, but she still apologizes almost every day for destroying my make-up.

Here she is just being a goof in her ball pit. It is one of her favorite places to hang out, which means I never know what I'm going to find in there. The other day I was putting balls away and found popcorn and about 10 lipglosses in the bottom.

Friday we went to the base's travel center promotional outdoor picnic. They had at least 50 vendors, jump houses, free lunch, giveaways, and a dj. Parker's favorite part was the whale mascot. We got lots of free stuff, plus won a free race at a nearby adult go-cart raceway.

Saturday night we went to Chuck E Cheeses with the Bowsers. It was fun, and not nearly as busy as I expected it to be on a Saturday night.

Jacob was way more willing to give a good camera smile than Park was.

Park was a little scary at skee ball- I had to walk away because I was afraid she would hit me while chucking the balls.

Which happen to be Parker's favorite, she rode it every chance she got.

Travis and Hank really got into one of the games.
