Hi Daddy

Every time Parker gets on the phone since Hank left all she will say is "Hi Daddy!"

Bye Bye Daddy.

Today was a really hard day. I was ready for it, but it doesn't make it any easier. Nor does sitting in a quiet house, knowing that it will be a year before he is here again(except 2 weeks in August). Parker is doing ok so far, except it took her a long time to go to sleep, I think she was waiting for him. I went to work after he left, and that really helped me keep it all together.

It was beautiful out today, in the 70's i think.

Mostly we waited in the parking lot, but once we went into the building so that Hank could go to the bathroom. While we were waiting a nice looking, well dressed, older lady came over to talk to me. Hank came back and she introduced herself to him. Apparently it was the general's wife. Oops.. Hank just shook his head and laughed at me as we left...

Apple

Parker loves clementines, she eats at least 3-5 a day. For some reason, in the last couple of days, she has started calling them apples. No matter how many times we say orange, she'll respond "apple."

Update

SNOW DAY

I know what you're thinking, its snowing in Jacksonville North Carolina? Impossible. But it's true - SNOW DAY!

New Blog... finally

Sorry, I haven't taken very many pictures this week. I have been busy with work, plus Hank leaves for a 14 month deployment to Iraq in two weeks, so mostly we have just been hanging out as a family as much as we possibly can. So here are a few pictures just so I don't have to get yelled at for not blogging...
Park must be growing because she is eating non-stop these days. She has a big bowl of cereal for breakfast, then goes into daycare and eats breakfast with them. She also gets lunch and a snack there, then comes home, has a snack, then eats a big dinner. It is so nice to have her eating like a big girl.
Scariest one-eyed picture ever....

Miles... just being the weird dog that he is. He is seriously the best dog ever though, there will never be another dog who lives up to the standards that he's set.

Dirt and Chuck E Cheeses

I forgot how you live for the weekends when you have to work during the week. We actually haven't done much because Hank and I have been obsessed with finishing Legos Star Wars on PS3, and it is the longest game I have ever played. Park has been playing out in the yard a lot, today she came in covered in dirt. She and Miles apparently dug a hole for us.

She also had her first trip to the Jacksonville Chuck E Cheese. We went with Chad, Robin, and Tenley, and had a really good time. Parker wasn't sure what to think at first, but she quickly warmed up to it. She was obsessed with riding in this car, and Tenley is just obsessed with Chuck E and wanted to "sit on his lap." Tenley also goes up to the big Chuck E and hugs him until he starts dancing and hits her.

Daddy and Park playing Mario Kart.

Park and Tenley bopping the sharks.

She did a good job handing me the balls, but didn't really care to throw them.

She discovered yesterday that she could dig under her swing set. Check out the pants, I'm not sure that you can see, but they are pretty dirty.

Ello?

This is classic Ash.
This is classic Park.

Nurse Ashley

This week has been a little crazy for us, and I think it deserves some narration. I started a new job on Monday at the Naval Hospital here on base (yay for having a hospital down the street!). I am working in their Family Medicine Clinic as one of 9 RNs who are split between their three teams of doctors. The biggest challenge has been getting use to working for the Navy, the acronyms just never end. But the people I work with are nice (for the most part), and it has felt wonderful to be back in a hospital environment, even if its not on a floor. It has been super nice having Hank home right now, he has been taking Parker to daycare and picking her up so that I don't have to worry about it. They are so cute together, it has only been four days and she already wants him over me.

Wait for the Gremlin laugh...

and the one-eyed laugh...

Home again

I love her close ups (usually taken as she's running at me).

Her new strollers go round and round our house. She often trys to take them with her when she leaves, then has a fit that they have to be left behind.

She has been spending a lot of time outside lately. She has finally gotten to an age where she will go outside without me, and I just watch her from the kitchen window.

I got home today and Parker, Hank, and two of our neighbors kids were out on the swingset. I got there just as they were cheering Parker on as she climbed the rock wall herself, then ran over and went down the slide by herself.

More Park

Grandma and some of her grandbabies...

Park hanging out with one of her favorite people... Grandpa.

This was so funny. Hank was trying the Wii fit, but every time he tried to do a pushup or something similar Parker got in his way.

She even tried to give him rasberries.

She was also really helpful while Grandpa tried to fix a shelf for the Wii.

Sweet boots.

Christmas Eve

This year we opened all our presents on Christmas Eve because Amy and Curt had a early flight the next day. We still opened Christmas Eve by having Amy read the story of Jesus out of the bible.

Then we opened presents starting with the youngest, the Jameser.

Even though the siblings all exchange names we usually still get everyone somthing small from our kids. Parker got Aunt Cami and Aunt Amy this really cool Cupcake book that Mommy was a little jealous of, but lo and behold, when Mommy opened her presents from Grandma and Grandpa Nesbitt she found they had gotten her one! It was awesome.

Dave's girlfriend, Kristine, was with her family for Christmas. We are hoping to meet her sometime soon!

Amy got one of my favorite presents... a good cook book.

Wii Fit.... Woohoo!!

Park loved all her toys, and James', they kept stealing each others presents.
