The Gaenzles and Wickers

On Saturday we went over and spent the day with Hank's aunt and uncle's family (the Wickers) and Mimi and Papa( his grandparents). Linda took a lot more pictures than I did so I stole most of these from her Myspace page....

We went and had a nice lunch with everyone at Olive Garden. Parker especially enjoyed the chocolate mint at the end.

Back at the Wicker's house we had birthday cake and presents. Thank you again for it all!!

Turtles in El Paso

While we were at the Nesbitt's this weekend Grandpa said something that sounded pretty strange to me. Fairly early in the morning he announced he was going to go feed the turtles. I wasn't aware that they had any pets, I had surely never seen one in the house. Well, apparently they have turtles in their back yard( 11 or 12 of them) that they have been feeding for years and years. The turtles are hysterical, they come running(imagine a turtle version) to the back patio when grandpa starts banging a spoon against the side of a dog food can, and then hungrily gobbles up what they can before anyone else can get it. If they can't stuff it in fast enough then they lay over it so that no one else can get it.

Texas National Aquarium - Corpus Christi

Ok, ok, I know it's been a few days since I blogged, but geez, you people are going to have to get use to the blog slowing down, Daddy's home! We are currently in El Paso visiting some more of Hank's family, and having a great time. I'll post pictures of the trip later, but for now here are some pictures I took a couple of days ago in CC.

Grammy and Park

We always find Parker in the weirdest sleeping positions.

On Wednesday we took Parker to the aquarium. We were there when we visited in October, but Parker enjoyed this visit more.

After the aquarium we met Grammy at a restaurant for lunch and Parker had her three favorite things: bread, pickles, and a lime. Strange child.

Schlitterbahn

On Saturday we went to this big water park called Schlitterbahn. It was really fun. There were tube rides, lazy rivers to float around in, lots of baby pools, and other fun stuff to do and see. We stayed in a resort right across the street so Parker got naps when she needed them, and everyone else got to play. I think everyone had a really good time. Thanks for taking us Grandma, Grandpa, and Ryan!!!

This is the view from our back deck. You could go tubing down the river and then get out at your own door. At almost any given point during the day you could look down there and see 50-100 people floating down on their tubes.

On Sunday we drove to this awesome outlet mall and did some shopping. Parker's favorite part was the balloon she got at Johnny Rockets.

Park has been practicing her shooting skills with John Wayne in our room. She is getting pretty good....

Snacks

Parker figured out how to open her snack containers this weekend. She doesn't even want the food most of the time, just to play with the container....

The Alamo

Ryan had been complaining that he had lived in Texas for 13 years and not gotten to see the Alamo so we stopped on our way to Schlitterbahn. It was neat to see, but Parker wasn't feeling good so Hank and I ended up just walking around the grounds most of the time.

As you can, Parker really enjoyed the Alamo. She was really funny with that monkey though. We ate lunch at the Riverwalk Mall right across the street from the Alamo, and as we were walking through one of the San Antonio tourist stores she saw these monkeys and went crazy. We bought her one and she played with it a lot this weekend. Why she likes a ugly red monkey with no tail I'm not sure, but she does, a lot.

Marlena and Chloe

Bobby, Marlena, and Chloe came to visit us the other night. It was fun to see them, especially because Chloe is getting so big, and is really starting to talk!
Chloe tried out Parker's car, it seems to be a big hit all around.

We tried to take pictures of just the two little girls but it was a no go. Chloe squirmed and Parker cried so here is what we got instead.
