Popper

We were at Toys'R'us yesterday when I saw one of those poppers that have been around forever. I wasn't sure Parker would like it, or if she would even figure out how it worked, so I got her out of the cart and gave it to her. Well, I wish I had a video because she pushed and pulled this thing around the entire store. She dropped it once and almost had a heart attack, she couldn't get it back into her hands fast enough. We bought it for her because we couldn't get her to let go of it, she even had to hold it in the car on the way home. What a nut.
Sorry, bad quality, it was taken with my phone at the store.

Green Converse

I was cleaning some stuff up in Parker's room this morning when she found these green converse shoes someone gave us a while ago. Well, she decided she had to have them on, and yelled at me until I put them on her.

I think she likes the sound they make on the floors.

I thought she wanted me to take them off a couple of minutes later. BIG MISTAKE. She cried like this until I put them back on. She even took her nap with them on.

Teething

Poor Parker has a top tooth that broke the skin this week, and another on the way. They have made her miserable, barely leaving my arms for anything but Daddy. These frozen Go-gurts seem to be helping though.

Here she is trying to rescue Miles for doggy jail (otherwise known as our backyard).

She finally understand that she can ride on it!

Parker Pumpkin

So I have already started gearing up for Halloween and the fall in general. It has finally started to get a little cooler here in NC (70's and 80's instead of 80's and 90's), so Parker got to wear her pumpkin shirt for the first time today. We also got her this little pumpkin bucket yesterday at Target that she carried around the entire store, and has been toting around home.

Funny Park

Yum... Chocolate...

She has been carrying the cheese grater around for a few days. She takes it to the bathroom, puts it with her toys, and places it in the small cabinet thing we have by our bed...

I'm not sure how she managed to get all her blankets underneath her instead of on top of her...

This is what she does with her ladybug, she hasn't figured out how to ride it yet, but she is working on it.

Her favorite word of the moment, "Uh oh."

Dante

Our friend Nicole brought over her puppy yesterday, Dante. He and Miles chased each other around and around, and Parker just sat and laughed at them.

And here are some fun videos of Parker going down the slides. (and yes she hit her head on the camera at the end of this one, but it wasn't very hard!)

Farmers Festival

Yesterday we went to the Farmer's Festival about 20 minutes away. We were hoping for some fun vendors and maybe some animals for the kids to see, unfortunately there wasn't much there. Parker loved seeing some of the tractors though.

Pink Coat

My friend Courtney brought this fuzzy pink coat over for Parker yesterday. Parker was actually really happy when I put it on her, it was so funny. She looks like such a little girl now, no more baby...

Tropical Storm Hannah

Everyone batted down the hatches on Friday, getting ready for what we thought would be hurricane Hannah. They let everyone on base out of work at noon, schools got out early, and there was a curfew for everyone at 7pm. It was all for naught. We got some bad wind, had a few banches knocked down, and lost power for a couple of hours.

Daddy's shirt!

More beach from Sunday.

What a goofy baby...

The Swing Set!

Here is the finished swingset, complete with a Parker swing!

We took Parker to the beach today. It was the first time we had been since she started walking, and I swear she never slowed down. She didn't really care where we were, she went to explore what the boys next to us were building, then she headed straight into the waves (which was a little scary because the current is still pretty strong from Hannah). She did pretty well on the sand, and was absolutely exhausted by the time we left two hours later.

More to come...

Hank's family drove all the way from Corpus Christi last weekend to visit us (yup, they drove through New Orleans when everyone was trying to evacuate), and we are so happy to see them!

They brought us a whole trailer of stuff for our house, and stuff of Hank's. While we were unloading it all Ryan decided to try out Hank's stuff. I particularly like the Marine pajama pants.

Grammy and Grandpa came bearing birthday presents for Parker. She got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse book (she loves that show), a Care Bear movie, and some really cute clothes!
Since we adopted Miles (I'll dedicate a post to him soon) we decided it would be nice to have a fence. We thought about renting but it cost almost as much to rent for a year as it would just to build one. So Hank's family helped us build one.

And while we were building our fence Parker finally decided to walk! She can take 9 or 10 steps at a time. I will get some video of it up soon.
For her birthday Grammy and Grandpa also bought Parker a.... swingset!!! Hank's mom and I put most of it together ourselves (again, picture to come soon).
The Miles! He wasn't very happy to see us building our fence, it means he can't explore the entire neighborhood every time he goes outside.
Last night we were all exhausted so we ate a quick dinner at the new Red Robin that just opened up in town.

Daddy's Trucks

Hank has been going through a bunch of his boxes and today he found these two Bigfoot trucks that he played with as a kid. Parker LOVES them, it is really funny to see her push them around.

Birthday #2

Miles looking a little confused after finding Parker in the cabinet.

Parker holding on to Miles leash while Daddy talks on the phone.

We had a little birthday today with some of Park's friends. Here are a couple of our guest, Lorilei and Charly.

Happy Birthday Parker!!!

I love her.

Park had her 12 month visit today. She is now 19 lbs 8 oz, and 28 inches which puts her in the 25% for both.
