Last weekend we took advantage of the holiday and made a road trip up to NY. For anyone who hasn't heard, Hank received orders a couple of weeks ago to go work at
SOI west (enlisted school of infantry) at
Pendleton. The real kicker is that the orders have us reporting in in February, so we have been rushing to get things done. We decided NY was a must before we move across the country.

We got there on Friday, and on Saturday Hank, my dad, and 5 other guys went out snowmobiling. They went 110 miles that day.

It was actually pretty warm for NY so Park got to spend some time outside too.

She tried out sledding a few times.

But mostly just hung out with Aunt Nicki, Meg, and Connor.

The orders have actually been a blessing, even if they have us rushing to get things done. When Hank came home he went back to his parent command, who they themselves had just gotten back a couple of weeks earlier from 7 months on a MEU (ships). Within days of the earthquake in Haiti his command had been recalled, got back on the ships, and were on their way to Haiti for at least 90 days. Because of Hank's orders he didn't have to go. The people there need help, and I would have gladly let my husband go, but I am thankful I didn't have to watch him leave again after only having him home for 3 weeks following a year deployment.
