Sea World

Thursday our power went out just before 4- along with the rest of San Diego County.  Hank was out on a range with his guys most of the night, so the girls and I went swimming, ate dinner in the dark, and went to bed early.  I was a little nervous about traffic on Friday but decided to go to Sea World anyways.  I am glad we did because it wasn't very crowded at all.
We got there just in time to see Shamu.
Aimee and Ian

We went straight to the Pet Show (for the ten billionth time), and then over to see the Sea Turtles.

We got there late and didn't want to be stuck in traffic on the way home so after the turtles we played in the play area for a while and then headed home to see Hank for the first time (for the girls) since Sunday!

Gymnastics

When we came home from the lake I had a decision to make- whether to keep Parker in Ballet even though she wasn't 100% happy with it or to try out gymnastics.  I am so so happy that we went with gymnastics.  Running around, jumping, swinging, and rolling are a much better fit.  I think we will try ballet again when she is a little older.
Dally making a mess.
Parker doing one of her favorite activities- tying herself (and her animals) up.

First Tooth!

This little girl finally got her first tooth in.  It is on the bottom and really surprised me this morning when she bit down on my finger. It kinda made me sad, she is really growing up!

For the last month she has been going from sitting to her knees and rocking but she still hasn't figured out that she can move her legs.  If she really wants to get somewhere she scoots on her butt.  One of her favorite things right now is to shake her head no at us.  Her favorite food by far is cheese.  She loves to imitate the barking of one of parker's dogs.  She dances anytime music is on.  She thinks her sister and the dog are the funniest people on earth.

Disneyland with the Matyas

Have I mentioned that I love that we see so much family living here??? My cousin Cherie and her family are down here from Washington this week and we were lucky enough to meet up with them at Disney.
One of the first characters we saw was Cruella DeVille. She was just as mean and rude in person as she is in the movie. Now that we have our picture I think we will avoid her in the future.
It was really fun to get to see Cherie and her family. She got to meet Dallas and Parker had a great time with her kids.
We stole Abby and went to the Princess Faire. I felt really awful when the battery from my camera died after the first Princess.
Ariel
This one is from my phone. We also saw Tiana and I thought I had enough battery to get the pictures of her but apparently I didn't. So sad.
Belle

We had never been on Splash Mountain before and I wasn't sure if Parker was going to like it. We rode together in the back (you can see her in the back left corner) and she totally loved it. She was begging to go again.
We got Abby hooked on getting character signatures and pictures so she insisted we see Pooh and friends after Splash Mountain.

Park and Aladdin
One of our favorite parts of the day was seeing the parade. Parker and Dallas were totally enthralled, and Parker kept waving and calling to every character. It was really cute.
Jesse and Cherie have more pictures that hopefully I'll get to post sometime soon. We had a really fun time with them. Her kids were so sweet and so helpful with my two, and it was so nice getting to visit with Cherie and Mike. Hopefully we'll get up to Washington and get to see them again sometime soon!

Melissa...

took some awesome pictures, as usual!
The family: Dad, Hank, Me, D, Ry, Bobby, Park, Mom, Chance, and Jessica
I love this picture of them. It is so much more a reflection of these two goofballs then the staged forced smile ones.
Like this one I had forced them to take a few minutes earlier.
Park and her Aunt Melissa
I love this one of D getting Uncle Mark. Wet Willy!
I wish I had remembered to bring my straight iron. It was one of the many things forgotten as we rushed to pack with NCIS waiting outside.
Another great picture of the family
Some more pictures of Park's birthday.

Poor Grandpa, I think the only time he got with D was when she was passed out.

Papa's Memorial

After a crazy day Thursday we finally made it to El Paso for Papa's Memorial. It was a really nice memorial and we were grateful to be there for it. We miss you Papa!
