Natural History Museum

There are 15 Museum located in a very small area in Balboa Park in San Diego.  It's a beautiful area, but the only part we'd ever seen was the zoo.  Hank graduated a class of students last week so he had a few days off, one of which we used to go to the Natural History Museum.
I wasn't sure if Parker was going to like it or not (seeing as how she can't even read yet) but it turns out she loved it.
It wasn't a huge museum, but they had a lot of fun displays.
I really need to start putting shoes on this kid, all she wants to do is crawl around and find things to pull herself up on.
The had a really fun penguin exhibit.

Parker was half frightened/half fascinated by all the dinosaurs.

We got to see a 3-d dinosaur movie while we were there.  Actually Park and I saw it while Hank spent half the movie chasing Dally up and down the stairs.
The last exhibit we saw was a rock and mineral exhibit- more interesting then I would have thought.

Balboa park was really pretty to just walk around.  Not all of their museums interested me, but I'd definitely like to go back and see a few more- like the 2 acres of Japanese Gardens.

Happy Halloween!

Park decided early in the day that she was going to wear Scooby-Doo again (probably a good choice since it was a little chilly).  Dally didn't really care what we put her in.
Until she figured out what trick-or-treating was all about, Hank says after a few houses she insisted on holding onto her bucket and refused to let go.
Aimee, Ed, Gabriela, Ian, and Danny
The MP's even got into the spirit of it- handing candy out from the car windows.
And decorating their trunk.
Two cute puppies.

Inyo Lane Halloween Party

Saturday afternoon we got together with some of the neighbors for a block party. While we were waiting for everyone to get out there we started carving our pumpkins.
Before we knew it we had a whole crowd carving pumpkins, many of which had never done it before.
Our old jump house was a big hit with the little kids.
Dally was very interested in everything going on.
After eating some good food and sitting around chatting, we ended the night with a few rounds of a donut eating contest- including prizes of course.  It was a big hit with the kids.

The Zoo!

Before Grammy left last week we took her to the zoo.
One of the last things we saw were the Meerkats.  This one just seem to be chillin, catching some rays.

We tried the bus tour but sat on the wrong side of the bus, and then got the worst tour guide.  Oh well.

Happy Birthday Dally!

We were pretty busy hanging out and doing fun things with Grammy so Dally's birthday was kept pretty low key.  Parker picked out, made, and decorated Dally a cake.

Could we have bought a cute one from the store?  Sure, but nothing says sisterly love like a cake from your favorite sissy.
We used the money that Dally got from her birthday and bought her a cute chair of her own.  She and Parker have been playing on them non-stop. (p.s. Parker seriously NEVER has pants on if she can help it, sorry).
Dally (really Parker) opened her presents that the family sent on her birthday.  I haven't gotten a chance to write thank yous yet, but if you sent her a present, thanks!!!
At one year old Dally:
1. Can say "hi" and "uh oh" but her favorite is "bye"
2. Loves to sit down and read books
3. loves dogs as much as Park, and freaks out if we don't let her pet one thats nearby
4. Is still not sure about whole milk- she prefers water most of the time
5. Crawls away as fast as she can the moment she sees a new diaper or a change of clothes
6. Is very excited when Daddy comes home, she cries if he doesn't immediately pick her up
7. Sneak attacks Miles every chance she gets, and loves to crawl over and lay her head on him
8.  Is still using her left hand for most everything, I think we may have a lefty.
And mostly is just as sweet and cuddly as she has always been.  We love her.
