Alligators

This sign is posted to the right of the officers club. Makes you feel warm and fuzzy, huh? Actually the guy who was fishing on the dock said that there is too much going on right there so the alligators usually stay away from that area, but that you can occasionally see them on the banks closer to the marina. Happy sailing mom and dad!

The big event pavilion, the O'Club and its basketball/tennis courts, and some of the housing on base is right by the water.

We have been going on bike rides the last couple of nights, and have enjoyed getting to explore the base a little. Since the officer housing is all by the water there are these docks every so often, made for anyone to use. This one is right by the O'club, which you can see buried in the trees to the right.

Helping daddy do dishes. ( I know what your thinking Amy, "why did ashley put a picture of her husbands bare legs on here?" Well, the marines have to wear these short green silky shorts/underwear under their camis, and for some reason it is acceptable to spend time in public with them on. You see guys out running in them all the time, and i'm sure they are super comfortable, but if we were any where else and you saw a guy out running in these short shorts your first thought would probably not be that he is a big bad marine.....)

She tries to get up on everything, the couch, into the dryer, out of the tub, and into the dishwasher.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Parker has been changing so quickly lately that I feel that I need to write a few things down.

1. she has decided she no longer likes anything that is fed to her on a spoon, she will only eat things that she can feed herself. so she has been eating a lot of cheese, pickles, chicken nuggets, fruits, etc, lately...

2. she loves meats, and hates vegetables just like her father

3. she has figured out that the crib means sleep and went a few days with very little sleep and lots of crib "play time." during which there were many times I offered to mail her to NY.

4. as you can see from the video she has figured out that there is another way to get out of the tub other than head first. the funny thing is that she throws her toys out first, like she needs a excuse to get out, then throws her leg up.

5. she has been waving and saying buh-bye for about a month now

6. she follows me around the house, crawling and yelling the entire time

Aunt Amy's Dress

Last year Aunt Amy made this super cute dress for Parker and now it finally fits!

The Gaenzles

Hank's aunt and uncle, Mark and Melissa, and their three kids came to see us last week after a trip to DC. They weren't here very long, but we really enjoyed the time we got with them. It was really nice for me because I got to know them all a little better.
Here is our trip to Emerald Isle. Melissa took tons of pictures but I don't have copies yet so here are a few. Parker loved every second of it. She continually tried to crawl straight into the water. Hank would walk in to the point where he was holding her over his head and the waves were still almost getting her and she thought it was the greatest thing ever (Mark and I were back on the beach freaking out). We are obviously going to have to spend a lot of time at the beach this summer.

Makenna was so cute, she was always trying to help Parker no matter what she was doing.



On Saturday we took them to Wilmington to see the battleship North Carolina and then to go to my favorite ice cream store. The battleship was neat, but waaaaay too hot.

Stairs

This is what she did as soon as she saw Amy's stairs. Arrrrrgh! It drove me nuts, thank goodness we don't have stairs.

Last day in Washington

Three kids in the car... wow. They loved it though. Half the time we couldn't figure out who was making what noises.

Yay Skeattle!

We haven't taken nearly as many photos as maybe some of you would have liked, but we've been too busy having fun to take pictures. Yesterday we needed a break from shopping while at a mall so we let the kids play in this play area. Parker loved it, she crawled after all the kids and was trying to get up on all the big kid toys. I wish our malls at home had areas like this.

James hung out and watched Ian and Park play.

Ian wanted pigtails too, and he got them even though his dad tried to protest.

Parker loved playing with everything that wasn't a toy, like the sliding glass door, the curtains, and my least favorite... the stairs.
